Matthew Jones has a multi-faceted practice in providing land use and development counsel, corporate and commercial advice, and handling civil litigation. He has a wealth of experience in complex commercial transactions and also offers clients a successful track record in obtaining zoning and planning approvals, including SEQRA approvals, in the Saratoga region. He has secured municipal approvals for some of the largest projects in the area while serving as development counsel to significant clients such as GLOBALFOUNDRIES U. S. INC., Saratoga Hospital, The Saratoga Hotel, and New Country Motor Car Group.

Mr. Jones is also an accomplished trial lawyer. He has litigated contract actions and real estate matters in the Supreme Court of New York State, as well as argued civil cases before the Appellate Division, Third Department.


Mr. Jones is a past Chair of the Board of Directors of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, a past president of the Saratoga Springs Board of Education, a past president of the Saratoga County Bar Association, a past president of the Board of Directors of the Saratoga Regional YMCA, and a past president of the Saratoga Springs Lions Foundation Board of Trustees. He is a charter member and former vice-chairman of the Saratoga Springs City Center Authority and a former vice-president of the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Jones has chaired numerous civic and volunteer groups in Saratoga Springs over the past 39 years. He remains active in Smart City Commission of Saratoga Springs, the Chamber of Commerce, the Saratoga Springs Lions Club and athletic recognition programs at Saratoga Springs High School. He is a native of Saratoga Springs and the Yaddo Medal recipient of the SSHS Class of ’72.
