Matthew Jones has a multi-faceted practice in providing land use and development counsel, corporate and commercial advice, and handling civil litigation. He has a wealth of experience in complex commercial transactions and also offers clients a successful track record in obtaining zoning and planning approvals, including SEQRA approvals, in the Saratoga region. He has secured municipal approvals for some of the largest projects in the area while serving as development counsel to significant clients such as GLOBALFOUNDRIES U. S. INC., Saratoga Hospital, The Saratoga Hotel, and New Country Motor Car Group.
Mr. Jones is also an accomplished trial lawyer. He has litigated contract actions and real estate matters in the Supreme Court of New York State, as well as argued civil cases before the Appellate Division, Third Department.
Mr. Jones is currently a member of the Saratoga Springs Lions Club and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce. He has previously served as president of the Saratoga Springs Board of Education, the Saratoga County Bar Association, and the Board of Directors of the YMCA. He is a charter member and former vice-chairman of the Saratoga Springs City Center Authority and a former vice-president of the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Jones has chaired numerous civic and volunteer groups in Saratoga Springs over the past 35 years and he currently serves as trustee of the Saratoga Springs Lions Foundation, having served as a member of the Lions Club for 34 years.
