Experience:
Matthew Jones has a multi-faceted practice in providing land use and development counsel, corporate and commercial advice, and handling civil litigation. He has a wealth of experience in complex commercial transactions and also offers clients a successful track record in obtaining zoning and planning approvals, including SEQRA approvals, in the Saratoga region. He has secured municipal approvals for some of the largest projects in the area while serving as development counsel to significant clients such as GLOBALFOUNDRIES U. S. INC., Saratoga Hospital, The Saratoga Hotel, and New Country Motor Car Group. He is also counsel to the Saratoga County Home Builders Association.
Mr. Jones is also an accomplished trial lawyer. He has litigated contract actions and real estate matters in the Supreme Court of New York State, as well as argued civil cases before the Appellate Division, Third Department.
Service:
Mr. Jones is currently a member of the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation Advocacy Committee as well as a member of the Saratoga Springs Lions Club. He has served as a director and faculty member of Leadership Saratoga for the past 32 years. He is a former president of the Saratoga County Bar Association as well a former vice-president of the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Jones has served as president of the Saratoga Springs Board of Education, YMCA of Saratoga Board of Directors, as Trustee on the YMCA of Saratoga Board of Trustees, Chairman of the West Avenue Special Assessment District Committee and the Saratoga Springs Recreation Task Force, and Vice Chairman of the Saratoga Springs City Center Authority.
